Networks and Infrastructure: from the local network to data centre planning
We plan and build the technical infrastructure of buildings and organisations: wired local networks, wireless networks, interconnection of branches and sites, server rooms, storage systems and data centre planning. At the end we hand over documented infrastructure that can be operated and maintained.

What we offer
Good infrastructure starts with a site survey and an understanding of use: the number of users and devices, the systems that will run on the network, the layout of offices and floors, wireless coverage requirements and whether other branches must be connected. On that basis we design the network: segmentation into separate logical networks for staff, guests and medical or industrial devices, cable routes, wireless access points and the required equipment and specifications.
We plan server rooms and small to medium data centres in terms of space, racks, power and backup power, cooling, earthing and access control, and design storage according to data volume, performance and backup requirements. For site interconnection we propose a solution suited to the available connectivity, such as encrypted virtual private networks between branches, taking into account the actual connection quality at each site.
We can coordinate equipment procurement through our technical procurement service or work with equipment the client buys directly. Electrical and construction work for server rooms is carried out by qualified contractors; we define the technical requirements and follow up on execution. The project ends with network testing and full documentation of diagrams, configurations and addressing, with administrative credentials handed over securely.
Who it is for
- Ministries and public institutionsMulti-storey buildings and directorates in different cities that need consistent networks and secure interconnection.
- HospitalsNetworks that must separate administrative systems, medical devices and visitor access, with high reliability.
- Factories and warehousesLarge areas that need planned wireless coverage and separate networks for operational systems.
- Multi-branch companiesNeed to connect branches to headquarters and unify access to systems.
- Investors setting up new premisesWant the building's technical infrastructure planned before finishing works, not after.
Problems we address
- A slow or unstable network with no known cause, because it grew without planning.
- Weak wireless coverage in parts of the building or drop-outs when many users connect.
- No separation between staff, guest and sensitive device networks.
- A server room without adequate cooling, backup power or cable management.
- Branches working in isolation from headquarters and exchanging data manually.
- No network diagrams or documentation, making faults hard to fix and expansion hard to plan.
Tasks and deliverables
- Site survey and assessment
- An on-site visit and a report on the existing network, equipment, problems and needs.
- Network design
- Logical and physical network diagrams covering segmentation, addressing, cable routes and equipment locations.
- Wireless coverage planning
- Access point locations and settings based on floor plans and user density, with measurement after installation.
- Site interconnection
- Design and set-up of secure connections between branches and headquarters based on the connectivity available at each site.
- Server room and data centre planning
- Requirements for space, racks, power, cooling and access control, as a document contractors can work from.
- Storage solutions
- Design of storage capacity and approach to match data volume, performance and backup needs.
- Equipment list and specifications
- A list of required equipment and specifications for procurement or tenders.
- Testing, documentation and handover
- Network tests with a results report, updated diagrams and configurations, and secure handover of administrative credentials.
Who does what
What IAG does
- Survey sites and analyse requirements.
- Design the network, wireless coverage, site interconnection and storage.
- Prepare equipment specifications and coordinate procurement on request.
- Install, configure and test network equipment.
- Define server room requirements and follow up on their execution.
- Provide full documentation and train the client's technical staff.
What specialists, partners and authorities do
- Qualified electrical and construction contractors carry out power, cooling and civil works according to the technical requirements.
- Telecom providers supply internet lines and inter-site links according to their available services.
- Equipment suppliers provide hardware and warranties, whether through our coordination or direct purchase by the client.
- The client obtains any approvals needed from the building owner or relevant parties for cabling and installation work.
Practical example
Illustrative scenario
Network for a new three-storey headquarters
An organisation is moving into a new three-storey building and needs a staff and guest network, a small server room and a connection to a branch in another city.
- Survey the building and its plans before finishing works and identify office and room locations.
- Design the network, segmentation, cable routes and access point locations.
- Prepare server room requirements for the contractor and the equipment list with specifications.
- Follow up on cabling, then install and configure the equipment.
- Set up the secure branch connection and test coverage and performance.
- Hand over diagrams and configurations and train the IT contact.
This is an illustrative scenario to explain our approach, not a client reference.
How we work together
Survey and assessment
We visit the site, collect plans and requirements and assess what exists.
Design
We design the network and infrastructure, prepare the equipment list and specifications and approve them with you.
Procurement and preparation
We coordinate equipment supply, define contractor requirements and follow up on preparations.
Installation and configuration
We install and configure network equipment according to the approved design.
Testing and handover
We test the network, coverage and links, hand over documentation and train your team.
Intended results
- A planned, segmented network that is easier to operate and troubleshoot.
- Wireless coverage designed around how the building is actually used.
- An organised server room built to clear power and cooling requirements.
- Secure site interconnection that reduces manual data exchange.
- Complete documentation that supports later expansion and maintenance.
What we need from you
- Building plans and access to the sites.
- Expected number and distribution of users and devices.
- Systems that will run on the network and their specific requirements.
- Information on available connectivity and providers at each site.
- A technical or administrative contact for day-to-day coordination.
- Approvals from the building owner for cabling work.
Basis for cost and timeline
Cost depends on the number of sites, floors and users, the extent of cabling, the required equipment and specifications, the complexity of site interconnection and the scope of the server room. Equipment costs are separate from design and implementation fees, as is work by electrical and construction contractors. We usually start with a fixed-price survey and design, then provide an implementation quote based on the approved design. Periodic maintenance can be agreed under a separate contract.
Frequently asked questions
Do we have to buy the equipment from you?
No. We can coordinate supply through our technical procurement service or work with equipment you buy directly to our specifications.
Do you carry out electrical and air-conditioning work?
We define the technical requirements and follow up on execution, but electrical and construction work is done by qualified contractors.
Can you improve an existing network without replacing everything?
Often, yes. We start with an assessment and identify what can be fixed or reorganised and what needs replacing.
How do you deal with weak connectivity at some sites?
We design around the connectivity actually available and may propose a backup link or local operation of certain systems where the connection is unstable.
What do we receive at the end of the project?
Network diagrams, configurations, an addressing table, a test report and secure handover of administrative credentials, plus training for your IT contact.
